Kathey McCollum dedicated twenty-two years to serving incarcerated women as a Chaplain with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Now she is working to change how we perceive and our returning citizens and their families.
Kathey was married for 47 years to Bobby McCollum, before he passed from this earth and entered heaven in 2019. Together they raised three children (Jeff, Gwen, and Mandy) and have three grandchildren (Thomas, Nathan, and Alex). They also pastored and ministered together for many years.
Instead of retiring, Kathey is has dedicated her time to incarcerated citizens and their families.
Kathey has written "Sent to Prison: A Chaplain's Story" about her years as a prison Chaplain.
Starting in 2022, Kathey will begin hosting seminars on prison ministry, helping the families of the incarcerated, and how to be involved in reentry. Check back frequently for events.
Kathey, together with her daughter Gwen Harding, have founded Better Life Family Ministries. Both licensed and ordained ministers, they spread the Gospel message of hope and healing.
